Overview
After more than a decade since the release of the visually striking Immortals (2011), director Tarsem Singh returns with Immortals 2, a long-awaited sequel that expands on the mythological universe of gods, heroes, and titans. This next chapter promises more epic battles, stunning visuals, and philosophical themes about power, immortality, and the human spirit.
Plot Summary
Following the climactic battle of the first film, where Theseus (Henry Cavill) defeated King Hyperion and helped the gods stop the Titans from escaping, peace appeared to return to Earth and Olympus. But peace, as always in myth, is short-lived.
In Immortals 2, a mysterious force begins resurrecting fallen Titans, and ancient prophecies speak of a coming “Godfall” — a time when the gods will be overthrown by their own creations. Zeus (Luke Evans) begins to lose his influence, while the humans grow increasingly rebellious under the control of immortal rulers.
Theseus, now a mythic figure himself, is brought back into battle by a powerful oracle (Alicia Vikander), who sees the return of Kronos — the father of the gods — emerging from the void of Tartarus. With the balance between mortals and immortals at risk, Theseus must rally both men and fallen gods for a final war that will decide the fate of Olympus and humanity.
