Plot & Stakes
This season finds Christopher Smith, aka Peacemaker, facing personal and physical threats like never before. The biggest comes in the form of Rick Flag Sr., portrayed by Frank Grillo, who seeks vengeance for his son’s death at Peacemaker’s hands. As if that weren’t enough, the story veers into bizarre territory, introducing giant alien creatures, alternate versions of Peacemaker, and strange new corners of the DCU.
Cast
John Cena returns as the title character, joined once again by Danielle Brooks (Leota Adebayo), Freddie Stroma (Vigilante), Jennifer Holland (Emilia Harcourt), Steve Agee (John Economos), Robert Patrick (Auggie Smith/White Dragon), and Nhut Le (Judomaster).
New faces include Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Tim Meadows as Langston Fleury, Sol Rodríguez as Sasha Bordeaux, and Michael Rooker as Red St. Wild. Special appearances from Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, and Sean Gunn as Maxwell Lord add to the star power.
Creative Vision
James Gunn returns as showrunner and writer for all eight episodes, directing three himself. Under DC Studios, the season is designed to strengthen ties between TV and film projects in the DCU’s first chapter, “Gods & Monsters.”
Tone & Universe Impact
Fans can expect the same brash comedy and gory spectacle that made Season 1 a surprise hit, now expanded into a broader, interconnected universe. The events of Season 2 will ripple across future DCU shows and films, setting the stage for upcoming titles like Lanterns and Supergirl.
