Summary:
The Lord of the Rings is an epic fantasy saga that follows the journey of a young hobbit named Frodo Baggins who inherits a powerful, ancient object: the One Ring. Forged by the Dark Lord Sauron, the Ring grants immense power but also corrupts and destroys those who possess it. Sauron seeks to reclaim it and plunge the world into eternal darkness.
To stop this, Frodo is tasked with a perilous mission: to destroy the Ring by casting it into the fires of Mount Doom, where it was originally forged. He is joined by a fellowship of nine heroes, including his loyal hobbit friends Sam, Merry, and Pippin; the wizard Gandalf; the human ranger Aragorn; the elf Legolas; the dwarf Gimli; and the conflicted man Boromir.
The Fellowship eventually breaks apart, and each member faces their own battles — political, spiritual, and physical — across the vast lands of Middle-earth. While Frodo and Sam continue their secret journey toward Mordor, others fight to defend the free peoples from Sauron’s growing army.
Throughout the trilogy, themes of friendship, courage, sacrifice, and the corrupting nature of power are deeply explored. The final film, The Return of the King, ends in a climactic battle for Middle-earth and the ultimate destruction of the Ring.
