Plot Summary
American travel writer Pete McKell (played by Michael Vartan) joins a river cruise through the remote Northern Territory, guided by the experienced and sharp-witted Kate Ryan (Radha Mitchell). The peaceful tour quickly turns into a nightmare when the group is attacked by a massive, territorial saltwater crocodile — easily one of the largest ever depicted on screen.
Stranded on a small mud island as the tide begins to rise, the group must find a way to survive against the cunning and deadly reptile. But the crocodile isn’t just waiting — it’s hunting. As panic sets in and trust erodes, each decision becomes a matter of life and death.

Reception & Legacy
Though Rogue flew under the radar during its original release, it has since gained cult status among horror and survival thriller fans. Critics praised its tension, cinematography, and unique setting. It's often cited as one of the better entries in the "killer animal" genre, thanks to its restraint and smart direction.
Verdict
Rogue is a lean, mean survival thriller that deserves a second look. If you're a fan of suspenseful creature films like Jaws or The Ghost and the Darkness, this film offers a fresh, terrifying perspective — with an apex predator that’s all too real.
